So much has happened since the last posting. We've returned to Shriner's for an evaluation with the surgeon who performs the external fixation device.. Kinnley isn't a good candidate for this surgery. However, a second foot specialist examined her and said she thought they could work around the scar tissue and treat her with traditional surgery. In preparation, Kinnley will go through two series of casts. This will begin re-positioning her foot before the surgery. Her first cast will be put on in early January. After some discussion, we set a date for the first foot surgery at the end of January. Six weeks after the first surgery (mid-March), they will operate on her other foot. After multiple trips down to Houston and many cast changes later, Kinnley will be walking on feet that point forward! Our goal is to have her out of casts by summer time. Awesome!
We made a quick trip down to the coast and fished off a friend's pier. Kinnley caught her first fish - a croaker! It was small, but hey, it was a fish! Then we caught a crab. Kinnley almost backed her way off the pier to get away from it. Those claws looked way too menacing!
Halloween was a blast. The little girls were dressed up in fine attire. Lainie was a lady pirate and Kinnley was Minnie Mouse. I'll upload pictures soon. After about three houses, Kinnley had the routine down pat. We asked if she was ready to got home, and she said "No - I need more candy!". The big girls wore street clothes, but dressed our little Buddy as a pumpkin, while Candy wore a skirt and bow. Their theory is they are too old to be seen in costumes, but dog costumes never go out of style. Ha!
The girls' school pictures came in today. Can I brag a bit? They are just awesome! I've uploaded some of my favorites. Feel free to double click to see enlarged pictures. These were taken by Stephanie Wray. She is a local photographer who's kids attend the same school. This is the second year she has photographed at the school, and she is fabulous! I love the way she captures their personalities.
Our teenager is growing up and maturing way too quickly for our taste! She is beautiful, and such a joy. You are a devoted friend and have the gift of compassion toward others. We love you, Jaci!

Kailee is the young photogenic queen. It is hard to take a bad photo of her. She is silly on the outside, and will do anything to make someone smile or lift their spirits. As your Daddy always said, "you make our hearts smile".

And now our Lainie Bug! Your infectious laughter is music to my ears. You have the brightest imagination and a heart that is so accepting of others. You are our special surprise blessing from above!

And of course, our newest addition to the family. Kinnley takes a room by storm and wins everyone's heart with her vivacious personality. You are a sweetie petitie!
