You may be wondering, who are these crazy Hubbard folks? Well, hubby and I are both native Texans. If you ever hear us speak, that will become a known fact in a hurry. ;)
Here's the cliff notes version of our "story":
From the time we began talking marriage, we both knew we wanted a family. However, after several years of failed infertility, God led us to adopt from China. Ten years into our marriage, we were blessed to adopt Jaci. She was 8.5 months old, and the most beautiful baby in her entire province (her Daddy says so!). Before we even left China, we knew we would return. Sure enough, three years later we were again in China, adopting Kailee. She was a fat little thing at 11 months old, and our "silly girl". Several years later, we decided to adopt again. A month into the paper chase, we found we were pregnant with Lainie! What a surprise - God has a wonderful send of humor. :) At 20 weeks, the sonogram revealed that Lainie had club feet. Four days after being born, she sported her first set of casts. Multiple sets of casts and two procedures later, Lainie's feet were straight. At 10.5 months old, she stood up and ran across the floor. What handicap?
Fast forward to a year ago. We discussed adopting again many times, but kept putting the thought back on the shelf. But in December of 2010, Jad and I made the commitment to adopt. We held off telling the girls about it until Valentines 2011. In April, we signed a contract with our agency, and we hope to have Mei in our arms by April 2012. Yup, just over a year in the making! Mei is a beautiful seven year old little girl, who's special need is club feet and one hand that turns inward. This is definately a special need we feel comfortable with. After all, it is all in God's plan. :)
I'll try to load our girls' stories up to the blog soon. Each one is special, and you can see God's hand on it in the making. :)
