Single Digits

When we wake tomorrow, we will be single digits away from travel.  The sleep chains will only have 9 links!  Wow.  I can't believe it.  It almost seems real now.  Not that it wasn't before.  But when you have months of waiting ahead of you, the sweet little pictures take on an almost surreal and dreamy quality.  Almost tangible, yet still fluffy and too far away to actually grasp.  The feeling is similar to driving through a thick fog.  You know your destination is out there somewhere beyond the mist.  You trust the road will lead you to your goal.  But the heavy air will only yield itself to seeing a short distance ahead.  My heart yearns for China...to see, hear, smell, and again experience our girls' birthplace.  You might be thinking to yourself, "but Lainie isn't Chinese".  Well, this is true.  But she grew in our hearts as an adoptive child before we knew we were blessed with her pregnancy!  And because of her special story, we again find ourselves in China.  If you look up Chinese population statistics in Wikipedia, it will state that China is the home to over 1.3 billion Asians, and one little blonde haired girl with sparkly green eyes.  The asterisk by this comment will lead to a tiny footnote at the bottom of the page.  This notation states that she is Chinese via adoption.  ...what can I say?  I am a romatic at heart.  :)
