One of the most rewarding things on our previous adoption trips was being able to share the miracle of adoption with other families. While you are all on the same trip, the stories vary. It's amazing how each has its own thread on how they arrived at that point. We have made some life long friends through this experience, and looked forward to the same on this trip.
We were worried that we would be traveling alone, since most people try to avoid travel in April because of a big trade show in Guangzhou. But we got great news today! There are four other families traveling with us. I have only connected with one family thus far, but looking forward to meeting the others soon. Yeah!
We are down to 15 days before travel, or roughly 360 hours. :) The sleep chain is shrinking! I am having problems focusing and also trouble sleeping. My brain just won't turn off. If I wake in the middle of the night, my mind immediately shoots to my "to do" or packing list. It's similar to the last few weeks before birth. While adoption is not a physical birth, there are still symptoms....nesting, trouble focusing, sleep issues, crankiness, high emotions, anxiety, etc. I teased Jad that I couldn't lift a heavy box because I am "expecting". He just shot me a look, grinned, then obediently walked to the box. LOL. He such a good sport. :)
