Spring 2013
Well, as usual, I am very behind in posting news. So where do I start? Perhaps I'll just make mention of things in the order I should have posted them!

April 4th - our third little joy turned the double digits. Yup, the be 10 years old. It pains me to see two digits in her age. It was just yesterday that she was a toddler, being toted around with two casts on her feet. The doctors set our expectations for her to be delayed in walking, perhaps not taking her first step until 15 or 18 months old. But they forgot to tell her. At only 10 months old, she stood up on her feet and ran across the floor! There was fun to be had, and sisters to chase down. While I was pregnant with Lainie, I always craved spicy food...the hotter the better. I suppose that is why she had blonde ringlets surrounding her little head. These were usually disshoveled into a wind blown pile, but she was precious all the same. What a joy she is to our family. We were told several years ago that she had the character trait of meek. At first we disagreed, because we thought of meek as quiet and unopinionated. But then I read the definition as "having a quiet confidence". That certainly fits her! She is a sweet little joy, and the one of my children that is most drawn to babies. Lainie says she is going to have a big family, with probably 5 to 7 kids. Knowing her heart, that might just happen! Lainie, you are a joy and the most wonderful surprise blessing we could even receive. We love you!

One year later
April 9th - Kinnley's "gotcha day". One year ago, a happy little munchkin joined our family, transforming us in ways that we could never have imagined. Her silly little personality shines through all her tragedies and triumphs. While many people tell us how fortunate she is, we are indeed the ones that received the blessing. She taught us that older children can adapt to a new family, if only given the chance and love everyone deserves. We enrolled her in Kindergarten this year. Our school has an accelerated program, and finishes Kindergarten and first grade in the same year. Remarkably, Kinnley kept up with her peers and completed all the word required to graduate kindergarten. She is fluent in the English skills she has been exposed to. And to add another challenge, she bravely accepted two surgeries to correct her club feet. It's been a long road (4 months in casts), but we're coming to the end of that phase. My how her little life has changed! Kinnley - you are an answer to our prayers, and a miracle from God. We love you!

2001 - Guangzhou (Hubbards are back row, second family on left). Kailee is the little one in blue that is squirming!
April 16th - Kailee's "gotcha day". Twelve years ago, we journeyed to Guangzhou to receive our second daughter. She was a chubby, healthy little thing, but unresponsive to us for the first day. She had the blessing of being raised by foster parents, and was grieving their loss. Slowly she warmed up to us, and her wild little personality began to shine. She got in to EVERYTHING in site! Daddy, Grandaddy, and I took turns holding her while we ate meals. We cleared the table of everything within two feet of her touch, because she would clear it for you otherwise. And she had the gift of good lungs. During diaper changes in the restroom, little Chinese ladies would give me the evil eye, trying to figure out how I was torturing this little one that was screaming so loudly. Over time, she grew out of her tantrums, and followed her sister everywhere. The chubbiness fell off of her during the first few years, and she because the slimmest of all the girls. But her silly antics remain, and she love to entertain and bring a smile to those around her. Kailee, your sweet spirit is adorable, and you are a precious blessing to our family! You make our heart smile! We love you!

Our "Jaci Girl"
Spring 2013 - time is passing quickly by. I would love to make it stand still, particularly for Jaci. She is so beautiful, and becoming a lady in her own right. In just two short years, she will graduate from high school. Typing that sentence brings tears to my eyes! This whole idea of a family started with a little miracle...a little sweet soul that filled a void in our lives. She was so perfect, so pure, so angelic. We have resistently watched her grow in knowledge, in height, and also spiritually. Our prayer is that we have instilled the "right stuff" to prepare you for life. You will ALWAYS be our little girl. We love you!

Me and my love
I reserve the last update for the person that usually gets the least amount of "press" in my blog - my dear hubby. Jad quietly rules the roost, with a calm, yet strong demeanor. He is a mush heart for his girls, and would do anything in the world for them. How many guys do you know that will patiently shop with the girly girls, teach them to fish, toss a softball, and make skillful ponytails? Yes, he's quite talented. He's our stable rock. Love you!
Below are some other random pictures, mostly for the grandparents. You can never have too many pictures to share with them. :)
