The Secret Shopper

What a great week!  We loved celebrating 4th of July with our newest US citizen! We made a trip to the grocery store to prepare a great meal.  When we returned home, the girls put the groceries in the pantry.  When I peered in the pantry the next morning, I saw several items that I didn't remember purchasing...two jars of olives and one jar of Miracle Whip spread.  I assumed Jad's mom dropped them by after her shopping trip so she didn't have to bring them to our house the next day.  But she said those were not hers.  "Someone" did a little secret shopping and sneaked a few extra items into the shopping cart!   I suppose we'll have to keep a more watchful eye on things when shopping!  Ha!

Last weekend, we went to a fireworks display near our home.  Kinnley loved it!  She definitely has seen firework displays before, probably during Chinese New Year.   For the last several days, we were blessed with much needed showers.  There was enough rain for us to feel comfortable buying a few fireworks to pop here at home.  It was refreshing to see the holiday through Kinnley's experience.  It took some coaxing to get Kinnley to hold the sparklers.  Once she got over the fear, she loved them.  She kept saying "more pow pow, pleeease!".  The girls all ran through the colorful wisps from the smoke bombs.  And we all enjoyed seeing a few Roman candles light up the sky.  Beautiful!
Got Milk?

Summertime brings other summer foods to our home.  The girls plow through watermelons and cantalopes at lightning speed, and we throw vegetables on the grill.  Yum!  My sister introduced Lainie to competitive corn on the cob eating contests.  She's turned my kiddos into chomping machines!  And of course ice cream is a big fav at our house.  :)
