This week, another event came to pass, reminding me that our little girls are growing up...

| Two beauties with their dazzling ears! |
Lainie has been asking to get her ears pierced for quite some time. Jaci has been considering it, but never committed one way or the other. Kinnley loves bling, and brought an earring and a pin to us, asking for us to pierce her ears. To sum it up, there was a lot of pressure to hit the earring store. So this weekend, we loaded up and headed to Austin. As soon as we arrived, Lainie popped up in the chair, carrying a huge smile on her face. As I held her hand, the technician quickly put pierced one ear, then the other. Next, Lainie learned how to clean her ears, still smiling ear to ear. Jaci then sat in the chair, and we repeated the procedure. I have to say, my girls look absolutely beautiful with their earrings! When Jaci was finished, we asked Kinnley if she wanted to get her ears done. Without batting an eye, she replied "no, that would hurt!". While we all giggled, Lainie began turning ash, and all color left her little face. She looked at me, and with a frightened voice asked "Mom, why can't I feel anything?". We quickly sat her down and Jaci ran to get water and a wet wipe from the truck. Slowly, Lainie's face regained its color. This must not be an uncommon event, because the technician handed me a lollipop and told me she had ammonia smelling salts if necessary. Luckily, we didn't have to resort to that. Lainie's reaction was a huge surprise to me, because she is the toughest of all our girls. Nothing bothers her, and the near fainting was probably 5-10 minutes after the piercing! Wow.

| Lovin' on Oreo |
We finally have a scheduled appointment for Kinnley at Shiner's. It is August 27th. I'm not sure why it took so long to schedule. Perhaps because she has several orthopedic issues, and they need to align when all the specialists will be there. Or perhaps they simply have so many kiddos that need their services. Either way, I am simply thankful for the opportunity to take her to Shiner's. We've heard so many wonderful things about the staff and their facilities.
