It was kinda a slow day today. We pretty much hung out at the hotel and chilled. No appointments since it is Sunday. Tomorrow we head back to the medical appointment area to have the kids' TB tests read. It should only take a few minutes, assuming all looks well. Mei's little shot is very clear looking, so I don't expect any issues (thank you Lord!).

Mei is slowly learning a few words in English. It's amazing to watch out family meld into a new, larger unit. Mei chatters away in her native tongue and throws our names or a word into the mix that we understand. Somehow, we all figure out what the other is talking about and get along great. Mei is so easy to deal with. She is still very active, but also compliant. When I put my finger to my lips, she knows she is to be a bit more quiet. When we need to tell her "boo", she knows that means no. I felt so bad when we were playing the other day. She was climbing through a little tube and coming toward me on the other side. I hid out of view, then jumped in front of the tube and yelled "boo!". She froze in shock. Then it dawned on me that I had just yelled "no!" at her in Chinese. Poor dear! I laughed and carried on so she knew I was kidding, but it definitely took her back.
While we rested, Jad and Kailee took a quick trip to Shamian Island. They found a shop owner that is a believer and has Christian related items. He was able to buy Mei a Bible that has English on one column of the page, and Chinese on the other. The shop owner was so thankful to have Christians visit her shop. Slowly but surely, the good news is spreading through the country.
Jaci's fever stayed down part of the day, but did go up some. She is getting stir crazy, as we have her pretty much quarantined to the roll away in one room, and wearing a mask while the girls are in the room. We did let her come downstairs and sit outside away from everyone while the girls swam. I think the fresh air did her good. If the fever stays down overnight, we may try to venture over to the island tomorrow afternoon, while Jaci wears a mask and everyone applies hand sanitizer often.
Please continue to pray for Jaci to recover quickly, and for the rest of the family to remain healthy.
Love to all -
